Howdy! This year we've decided to walk from Berlin in Germany to Prague in the Czech Republic. We're following a couple of the European long-distance hiking paths ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_long-distance_paths ): briefly along the E11 from Berlin to Potsdam, and then south on the E10 from Potsdam to Prague. Unclear how long this will take. It's hard to get good information on these long-distance trails. We're guessing 2 or 3 weeks, should be fun!
It's also hard to find good maps of these routes online. The above is nabbed from Wikipedia; it's a nice overview but it's not so helpful with the terrain details, and only shows larger towns. ("Praha" is the Czech name for Prague. Oh, and you can click that map to see the full map of Europe.) We were, however, able to find a great selection of paper maps at the excellent map store Schropp in Berlin. They're very heavy, and there are still a few bits of trail that aren't covered (some maps were out of print!??) but it's a good start.
Tomorrow we'll start the hike westbound on the E11 to Potsdam. Wish us luck!
